JAG Audio is truly a custom loudspeaker business. You tell us what kind of music you enjoy and what kind of volume levels you listen to. You tell us about your listening environment where your speakers will be played. Then we work with you in determining what kind of loudspeaker will work best for you. We'll design you a system to fit your sound and space requirements, and your budget. We'll put a finish on your speakers so they look like they were designed for your listening area, (because they were) and no one else will have anything that looks or sounds like them !
Once you contact us and give us your requirements and budget guidelines, we create loudspeakers to fit your requirements. Then if you wish we e-mail you the technical specs. and an estimate on the speakers. You look it over and we answer any questions you might have. Then we build your loudspeaker system. It's that simple .

We have a large variety of drivers we can use for your loudspeakers. Basically it boils down to this, when it comes to raw drivers you get what you pay for. You can save a few bucks buying inexpensive drivers, but they usually have undesirable characteristics such as low efficiency, resonant peaks and dips, frequency rolloff in an undesirable area, limited cone excursion, low power handling ability, ect.. What we do is do is determine your desired requirements such as maximum output, size of enclosure, bass extension, type of dispersion, ect.. Then we recommend suitable drivers and designs. You decide how involved you want to be in the designing of your loudspeaker. If you're not that knowledgable about loudspeaker design but appreciate quality sound, you can just leave it to us to design your speakers. But if you have some knowledge of loudspeaker design and maybe you don't have the time or means to build your own speakers, here's your chance to have loudspeakers built just the way you want them !
The importance of crossover networks are often overlooked when a loudspeaker is purchased. The crossover can make or break a speaker. Many mass produced speakers use very inexpensive components and designs in making their crossovers. The result is distortion or failure at high power levels, low rolloff rates at crossover points causing a muddy sound and poor imaging . Also when high frequency drivers see low frequency signals they can be burned out. We hand build our crossover networks and using high order designs for steeper frequency rolloff and quality components that can handle power levels beyond what the speaker will ever see. The result is clean sound, excellent imaging, and high power handling. We also use heavy conductors to internally wire the speaker, and high power binding post terminals to connect your speakers. We can also make custom terminals to fit 1/4 phone plugs or multiple wiring configurations.
The loudspeaker enclosure is not just box to house the speaker. The enclosure must meet several characteristics to be of quality design. It must be made of a solid nonresonant material, have internal bracing to make enclosure extremely rigid, have proper amount of internal damping material, made completely air tight, and tuned to an exact frequency to control the speaker cone during resonance. You can be assured that every JAG Audio speaker that is produced has been carefully designed and many hours have been spent hand building the enclosure.
Many of the loudspeakers we build are grill-less. The reason for this sound degradation through high frequency loss in grill cloth and defraction from grill frames. But if you still prefer grills, we'll be glad to build custom grills with acoustically transparent cloth and smooth radiused frames. Of course for PA applications we recommend heavy duty metal grills with rubber insulators to prevent vibrations.
